HGY Mission implements a range of projects designed to respond to urgent needs while promoting long-term resilience and empowerment across communities in East and Central Africa.
Each project is built around the real needs of communities, delivered through trusted local partnerships with dignity and care at the centre.
We assist activists, human rights defenders, and individuals facing persecution or security threats by facilitating safe relocation, emergency shelter, and transition support to protect their lives and dignity.
Legal aid projects provide access to legal guidance, documentation support, rights awareness, referrals, and representation for vulnerable individuals facing injustice, discrimination, or abuse.
Mentorship programs create pathways for leadership development, confidence building, and long-term social participation for young people and emerging community leaders.
Education projects support access to learning, literacy, and skills development for children, youth, and adults in underserved and conflict-affected communities.
Our GBV interventions focus on survivor-centred support through protection referrals, psychosocial care, safe spaces, and access to recovery services for those affected by violence.
Economic empowerment projects help women, youth, and vulnerable households build livelihoods through entrepreneurship support, vocational skills, financial literacy, and income generating opportunities.
We provide psychosocial support and mental health services to individuals and communities experiencing trauma, displacement, violence, or chronic stress in crisis-affected settings.
Peacebuilding projects bring divided communities together through dialogue, reconciliation processes, and conflict resolution programmes in post-conflict and fragile settings.
We advocate for the rights of marginalized and persecuted communities, raising awareness and engaging decision-makers to drive policy change and accountability.
